Ritz is filing for Bankruptcy
Not too surprising, given that they've swallowed up Wolf Camera and other major chains nationwide. And, given the across the board bad reviews from friends and family using them, not too surprising either. Interesting, though. Anyone try to find a good camera shop or store recently? In certain areas, it is a very difficult task.
As part of my website, www.canyoupicturethat.com, I intend this blog to be a glimpse into my work and other thoughts. I will post critiques, reviews, announcements, and opinions. I hope you will check back frequently and feel free to encourage a posting on a subject, or ask me questions.

Things I've been working on...
To catch up on a few projects I've been working on:
1. Yankee Stadium: Given the opportunity to catch the 6th to last game at the house that Ruth built, a friend and I hopped a bus, and I loaded my film, to get some pretty good shots of the stadium, at the request of a huge Yankees fan, good friend, and benefactor of my art. Some of these images will be up on the site soon.
2. Baltimore! After 2 years of living here, I've finally been shooting a lot more of the city, from the more famous sites, to the rather smaller and less significant sides of things. Coming soon!

Photog Rights on Colbert
As many of you know, I feel very strongly about the recent years' attacks on photographers' civil rights. This was a lighter piece by Stephen Colbert touching on the issue.

Hidden Bodine photos in Baltimore?
It has been a while since I've posted. Sorry! Will try to post more, soon.
Today, wandering around the Harbor area of Baltimore, doing errands, I was in the Harborplace, or Gallery shopping center, mall, whatever you call it. Exploring, I took the open escalator from the fourth floor of retail shops to see what was up on the next level. To my surprise, it seemed to be a lobby or space of the Renaissance at Harborplace hotel by Marriott. To my delight, four LARGE prints adorned the walls, and they look like A. Aubrey Bodine works.
I have a fondness for Bodine's work, especially his Baltimore shots, and these are huge! They must be 6 by 8 feet or more. I can't find any details on Marriott's site about them, and know very little else, since I was asked to leave by the security staff. Turns out the "conference" that was going on, involved "secure and private" information, so since I didn't have a badge, I had to leave. I asked them if I could come back again, and begrudgingly, they said yes. Apparently I was some kind of security risk, even though I had gone up the escalator, seen no signs saying anything about security, and had wandered the lobby for at least 5 minutes.
anyway, these photos are great works, and I want to know more about them.
